SoDAVi Group is a nonprofit organization with the mission of helping the Korean-American community in Southern California by providing social data analysis and visualization services.
As more large open datasets are becoming readily accessible, people are getting more interested in data-driven approaches to solve real-world problems. Many cases have already been reported that data-driven solutions can actually bring direct social benefits in many fields such as education, health, public safety, transportation, economic development, and more.
Along with these trends, the local Korean-American community has a great opportunity to employ open datasets from different sources (governments and enterprises) in their decision-making process. However, thus far, it has not been able to fully utilize this immense opportunity. A raw dataset itself does not provide a meaningful conclusion. In order for the local community to fully maximize an available dataset, it needs expertise in data refining, processing, and engineering.
SoDAVi is a group of experts leading the effort of data collection and analysis to help the local Korean-American community make better decisions and policies.
